Solar Alliance designed, engineered and constructed Knoxville’s first ever community solar array near Interstate 40. This project is a collaboration of Knoxville Utilities Board, the City of Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley Authority. This installation covers a three-acre site next to the city’s Public Works Facility, making use of a brownfield area. The one-megawatt solar array is part of the community’s larger commitment to make solar energy 20% of the total energy generated by 2024. Residents and business owners can now sign up for participation through KUB and become community subscribers.
