Abundant sunshine and clean-air-supporting solar energy are helping a municipal community center thrive!  Solar Alliance Southeast was selected by the City of Knoxville to design and install its first solar with storage system, on Dr. E.V. Davidson Recreation Center.  The 60 kW rooftop system is paired with a 122 kWh battery energy storage system or BESS housed outside the building in its own climate-controlled area.  The City dedicated the newly commissioned system on Earth Day 2026, incorporating STEM education for the schoolchildren who visit the center for after-school programming.  City of Knoxville Sustainability developed this project with federal grant funding.
