Imagine your office space humming along daily on clean, abundant solar energy, with only a nominal fee to the local utility company. That is the example being set by the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee at its headquarters in West Knoxville. The facility now runs on electricity produced and stored on site by its rooftop solar array and battery energy storage system or BESS. The system consists of 46.76 kilowatts (kW) of solar photovoltaics (PV) with a 60 kWh BESS. Rooftop photo courtesy the Diocese media.
