Vancouver, Canada, and Knoxville, Tennessee, October 1st, 2018 – Solar Alliance Energy Inc. (‘Solar Alliance’ or the ‘Company’) (TSX-V: SOLR) is pleased to announce it has completed the installation of a 32 kW solar system in Sophia, West Virginia in partnership with Walker Machinery and Whayne Supply, the Caterpillar Dealers serving Kentucky, West Virginia South Eastern Ohio and Southern Indiana. The roof mounted solar system was installed at the new Raleigh County elementary school and represents another successful installation this year for Solar Alliance’s Channel Partner Program. The program increases Solar Alliance’s reach through a network of partners that utilize the Company’s design, permitting and installation expertise.
Jason Bak, Solar Alliance CEO states, “Sophia is the heart of coal mining country in West Virginia, with a unique demographic compared to the rest of America. There is an aging, highly skilled workforce, trained in coal mining, with skills directly transferable to the solar industry. We plan for projects like these to illustrate how communities can diversify and transition to other energy opportunities.”
“The solar project at the new Raleigh County Elementary School provides clean, renewable electricity at a competitive cost,” said Solar Alliance Commercial VP Harvey Abouelata. “Our team has been working with Walker Machinery and Whayne Supply on several projects and we are excited to continue building on this successful relationship as we source new opportunities together. Our Channel Partner Program is delivering a steady pipeline of projects across several states and we are seeing a positive impact on our revenue stream. These projects are an ideal size as they can be designed efficiently, permitted quickly and installed in a short period of time. We look forward to working on many future projects with Walker Machinery and our other Channel Partners.”
“Walker Machinery has been providing energy solutions for over 50 years offering Caterpillar products backed by factory warranty across West Virginia and Southern Ohio. Combining Solar Alliance’s solar expertise with Walker Machinery’s depth of experience and customer support provides a highly competitive product for commercial solar customers,” said Walker Machinery and Whayne Supply Power Systems Manager, Brad Zingre. “This project will provide substantial benefits to New Raleigh Elementary School and we are proud to have partnered with Solar Alliance to deliver this diversified energy solution.”
Solar Alliance and Whayne Supply also recently worked together on a 34.5 kW solar array in Louisville, which is installed on the roof of the Archdiocese of Louisville’s pastoral center, a 35 kW solar array installed on the roof of the Hillside Theater in Hazard, Kentucky, and a residential solar system also in Hazard, Kentucky.
